These are my favorite mountain bike rides in the North Cotswolds, they are between 8 and 11 miles in length and wind their way through beautiful countryside along singletracks, bridleways and lanes.
All the rides have free parking and a pub somewhere along the route for refreshments!
Route 1 Chipping Campden – Blockley
The route follows country lanes to Broad Campden where a bridleway leads to open fields and a fast descent into picturesque Blockley. Muddy tracks in Bourton woods are followed by a short road section before bridleways take you back to the start.
The route is 8.7 miles long with 790ft of climbing
Route 2 Snowshill – Laverton
A nine mile ride starting from the classic cotswold village of Snowshill with a fast off road descent to Buckland. There are fine views over to Bredon Hill and a traditional village pub in Stanton on route.
The route is 9 miles long with 930ft ascent
Route 3 Snowshill – Hinckwick
An undulating 11 mile route high up in the Cotswolds hills through fields and natural woodland. There is a superb descent down a disused lane before cycling back to the start near to the Snowshill Arms.
The route is 11 Mile long with 700ft of climbing
Route 4 Guiting Power
This is the shortest ride with classic Cotswold views from the Windrush Way and wide tracks through Guiting wood. The route starts near the award winning Hollow Bottom pub.
Route 5 Winchcombe – Gotherinton
A hilly route at the northern edge of the Cotswolds on hard tracks and bridleways with a few short road sections. There are a couple of fast singletrack descents and suberb views over the rolling Cotswold hills not to mention the Corner Cupboard pub in Winchcombe.
Route 6 Cleeve Hill
Cleeve Hill is the highest point in the Cotswolds with great views over Cheltenham racecourse. The ride drops off Cleeve Hill through woodland trails and a great singletrack along Sabrina way before following bridleways and quiet country lanes back to the start.
