CES 6 – 9 January. The Consumer Electronics Show is the biggest event in the technology industry

The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show 12 -15 February. UK’s largest exhibition for adventurous people

Fort William Mountain Festival 18 – 22 February. A celebration of wild mountain culture

Edinburgh Mountain Festival 6 – 8 February. An annual event dedicated to the promotion of adventure through films, lectures and exhibitions.

London Bike show 12 – 15 February. The UK’s largest cycling exhibition


Iditarod   7 March. 1000 mile dog sled race across Alaska – just awesome!

Milan-San Remo cycle race  22 March. “The Spring classic” the longest professional one-day race at 298 km.

LLanberis Mountain Film festival 6 – 8 March. Film, skills workshops,family activities and master classes from experts


Paris Roubaix 12 April. One of cycling’s oldest races. It is known for its many ‘cobbled sectors’. Will Wiggo win it this year?

Keswick mountain festival 14 – 17 May. One of the largest UK Mountain Festival offering  a varied range of activities for beginners and enthusiasts looking for their next challenge.

Arran mountain festival 15 – 18 May.  Scotland’s premier hillwalking and mountaineering festival.

Giro d’Italia 9-31 May. The pre curser to the Tour de France with 6 mountain top finishes this year

Fort William mountain bike world cup race 6-7 June.  The 2nd round on the global 2015 World Cup Downhill

Man vs Horse 13 June. The incomparable race in Mid Wales, fantasic

Mont Blanc Mountain Festival 28 June – 6 July. A week climbing in Chamonix, what’s not to love?

London to Brighton 21 June. The 40th year of the legendary 54 mile bike ride.

Edinburgh Festival of Cycling  11 – 21 June. The Edinburgh Festival of Cycling has been listed as one of the UK’s best cycling festivals


Tour de france 4 – 26 July. This needs no introduction, will Chris Froome regain the title this year?

Twentyfour12 25 – 26 July. 24 hour mountain bike race!

Adventure race world series Alaska 28 June – 4 July.


La Vuelta 22 August – 13 September. Cycle race of Spain with 9 mountain finishes

Ride London 1 -2 August. Weekend festival of cycling including the Prudential 100 ride along the Olympic route

Coast to Coast adventure race 28 – 31 August. St Bees head to Robins Hood Bay


The cycle show 24 – 27 September. The UK’s no 1 Cycle show, Birmingham

Adventure Travel and Overland Show 26 – 27 September.  A national outdoor show featuring all forms of independent/organised ‘alternative travel’. Stratford Upon Avon

Harris Mountain festival 12 – 19 September. A week-long celebration of the mountains of and coastline of Harris.

Cycling Tour of Britain 6 – 13 September. The UK’s biggest professional cycle race and the country’s largest free-to-spectate sporting event.

Torridon Mountain and Sea festival 9 – 19 October. Sea kayaking, wildlife trips, mountain walking, scrambling, climbing, landscape photography, local food and crafts, all mixed together with a smattering of fine ale and great live music!


Kendal Mountain Festival 19 – 22 November. Kendal Mountain Festival is by far the largest and most varied event of its type in the world – it is also the main social event for outdoor enthusiasts in the UK

Adventure Race World championship Brazil 11 – 22 November.
